Dear Colleagues,
I want to thank you and your family from the bottom of my heart for all that you do. During these uncertain times, when the rest of society is ordered to stay home, we have to leave our homes and our loved ones to care for those who need us the most. We are in this line of work not for the money, fame, or recognition but for the reward of knowing that you are making a difference in someone’s life. I sincerely appreciate the sacrifice you and your family are making by being out in the community caring for people who are in their homes or in healthcare facilities.
At TLC, our number one priority has always been and will always be “YOU” our Caregivers, LNAs, CNAs, and Nurses. All of you know that my team and I will never ask you to do work that I myself would not do. Nor would we will ask you to work in an environment that I would not work in. The next six to four weeks will be one of the most challenging times for us in healthcare as this pandemic will hit the healthcare delivery system hard.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs), proper knowledge and a positive attitude are the best weapons in our arsenal to get through the next four weeks. I am confident my team will remain strong and will persevere during these trying times. As Caregivers, we are an integral part of the healthcare delivery system. Now is not the time for us to shy away from a challenge. I am certain that with proper tools and guidance, you can and will rise to the challenge and continue to provide the BEST care possible.
If you are working in the home care setting, please connect with your nurse case manager to obtain the Personal Protective Equipment and the extra training when needed. It goes without saying now more than ever, use proper infection control guidelines while caring for our clients. If you are working in a facility, please follow the facility guidelines around PPEs. If you have any questions or concerns, people do not hesitate to reach out to me.
I conclude by saying that you all are my heroes. Know that your teammates are only a phone call away to assist and guide you through any of the challenges that may arise.
